About Our Legacy
Salem Baptist Church was founded on Gold Street (Baltimore, Maryland) in 1962 by the late Reverend Dr. Jimmie Robinson Jr. Reverend Robinson, a former Korean War veteran, promised God that if he would return home safe, he would serve God by helping humanity for the rest of his life. Reverend Jimmie Robinson Jr.’s initiatives included Helping veterans from the Vietnam War obtain employment and benefits; feeding the homeless through the creation of a food bank; and providing activities for kids in the community.

Salem Christian Ministries aims to carry on Reverend Robinson’s mission of serving communities through community partnership, in Affordable Housing, Education, and Community Development. We help Veterans obtain benefits and employment, feed the homeless, provide food banks and activities for kids in the community. While Salem holds weekly Bible Study and Sunday Services, we also believe that the Ministry should be a hands-on approach that is extended outside of the church doors and into the hearts of every one of God’s children. For those who are interested in fellowshipping with Salem, we have weekly Bible Study every Wednesday at 7:30 pm and Weekly service every Sunday at 11 am. We look forward to welcoming you and your family.
